Fili bracers! Tooling and stitching complete, all it needs is buckles.

Still haven't decided whether I'm satisfied with the color -- like Thorin's bracers, it's hard to match because they look different in every promo pic. Even if it's not accurate though, they came out a *gorgeous* mahogany color, very deep and rich.

And yep, that is his built-in knife sheath, holding a pair of scissors because the only knives I have are for cooking. :)

I love the color, it's too awesome!
Would you mind telling me how you did the ornamenture on top? I'm still trying to improve my technique :)

Geometric designs like that are easy (compared to, say, Sheridan flowers) just not quick, and there really are no shortcuts. You trace the design onto the leather when it's wet, cut it with a swivel knife, and then spend a lot of quality time with your beveling tool. ;)

Secret to success though: use a textured beveler, because takes the highlight darker and makes your pattern really POP.

Wow, thank you. What do you do for tracing? :)

How many pairs are you making?
... because I want. o-o

What I tend to do is make one pair, to figure out how it's done, how much the materials & labor cost, and then make more as I get the orders for them. It doesn't really pay to make a bunch in advance, because people frequently need resizing, or want it in a slightly different color, etc. I find it's better just to make them to order. :)

hi for how much would you sell 2 of them?
looks really really good
or you can give me a tip how I can do something like this yourself?

I'm going to start at $110 for a pair, may bump it up later if I have to.

I am very interested
would you sell me a pair?
do you need my dimensions or how would that then expire?
and how I could transfer the money to you?

and how long do you estimate it would take until it is with me in Germany?

They are going to be up for sale in my Etsy store as soon as I get them finished and take some pictures (it's delayed because I have a huuuuge backlog right now. >_<), and I would be delighted to sell you a pair. Etsy handles all the money stuff, you can pay by credit card or Paypal.

I like to have wrist and forearm measurements for doing bracers, just specify that in your Note to Seller when you put in your order. Unfortunately I can't hazard a guess about shipping time to Germany -- I've shipped to Germany before, and sometimes it's quite fast, but once it was very, very, very late. =/

it is ok if it takes a little even though it would be great if it was for me at 14.03.2013 = 3

wrist 17.5
forearm measurements 21

wide from the upper forearm ^ ^ "only for security 27.5

Thank you very much
